Celebrate the festive season with Eyeko and experiment with different eyeshadows as we approach the festive season and New Year. We couldn’t think of a better way to add a little bit of shimmering red eyeshadow to our routine than with our Limitless Eyeshadow Palette 3. If you’re on the lookout for the perfect Christmas makeup look without too many complicated steps, this jewel-toned and shimmering eyeshadow look is for you.

‘Tis the season with the return of the Christmas parties and family outings, why not take a step away from the normal and delve into shimmer and dark eyeshadow to create a unique look? This tutorial will show you how to achieve the ultimate jewel-toned eyeshadow look perfect for any Christmas party or a night exploring the Christmas markets.

For this jewel-toned, shimmer eyeshadow look you will need:

How to do jewel-toned eyeshadow

Step one: line the eyes

First, apply Limitless Long-Wear Eyeliner Pencil in the shade Law of Attraction, a jet-black pencil eyeliner to create a smoky lash line. Draw a line across the lash line, thinner in the inner corner and thicker as you reach the outer corner (like you would with regular eyeliner).

Use a small brush and soften the line, buffing across. As you create a smokey effect, this doesn’t have to be perfect but try to keep it neat.

Add a small amount of black pencil eyeliner along the lower lash line, focusing on the outer corner and soften the line using a fluffy brush.

Step two: create a transition shade

Take shade Bare, a deep warm matte brown shade from Limitless Eyeshadow Palette 3, to work as your transition shade. Using a fluffy brush, tap off the excess) and apply above the crease. Keep this nice and light using back and forth motions out towards the tail of your eyebrow. This eye shadow will add warmth to your look.

Step three: add your jewel-toned red eyeshadow

With a clean fluffy brush, take shade Elan, a jewel-toned red eyeshadow and apply in the crease (underneath your transition shade) and across towards the inner corner using back and forth motions.

Apply the same shade to the lower lash line from the inner corner to the centre using a flat eyeshadow brush. Use a clean blending brush to blend into the black eyeliner pencil.

Step four: add dark eyeshadow

To create a sharp contrast with your crimson jewel-toned eyeshadow, take shade Creator, a jet-black matte shadow from Limitless Eyeshadow Palette 3 with a clean fluffy brush and apply along the lower half of the eyelid, blending into the black eyeliner pencil.

Then take this up to the crease to meet the jewel-toned eyeshadow and blend using circular motions. You can add more red eyeshadow if needed so the shades blend into each other.

Using a firm, small brush, take shade Elan and apply in the inner corner and blend.

Step five: add lashings of mascara

To complete your jewel-toned Christmas makeup look, apply one or two layers of Black Magic Mascara to add volume and curl to your lashes.
